- Vancouver,Canada Trip- June 18 to 25, 2018
People ask me how our trip to Canada was and i have only one answer: It was extra special.
We were supposed to go to Bahamas in May but we have decided to go to Canada instead. One of Eric's brothers lives in BC and he wanted us to meet Roland, Cherry and their beautiful daughters, Vane and Tori.
I hardly had time to plan the trip so I left the organizing part to Eric. Although I was excited to meet my inlaw's, I didnt expect much as to where to go and what to see during our trip.
On the plane to Vancouver, my youngest daughter asked, "Ma, do u know what people think of Canada?" I told her i dont have any idea and she said, "It's where the kindest people live." I just smiled.
We visited almost all the top rated spots in BC including Stanley Park, Flyover Canada, Queen Elizabeth Garder, Grouse Mountain, Richmond Night Market, Downtown, Cultus Lake, Granville, Science World, Central City, Metrotown, Canada Place, etc and we even watched a dragon boat race.
Seven days later, now we are at the Vancouver airport waiting to board on our flight going back to California. Im still overwhelmed with the thoughts of how much we enjoyed our stay in BC. Roland and Cherry were very kind and gracious, their girls were so talented and sweet. It was hard for all of us, esp for our kids to part ways, knowing that they have instantly formed an exceptional bond with each other in such little time. I have not seen Alia and Aisha with so much youthful exuberance before. It reminded me well of my childhood spent with neighbors, friends and cousins - enjoying youth and life itself. What a blessing!
And then I met my cousin and her family again after almost 25 years. Ate Peth Yaco was our #idol when we were kids, she has always been the smartest and most graceful among us. Im so thankful to her for spending time with me, for all the gifts and souvenirs from Canada and for preparing a lavish lunch for us.
I cannot thank Roland and Cherry enough for hosting us very generously. And Nanay (Che's Mom) for being like our "mom" in Canada too. For all the singing, food, fun, laughter and for every minute we spent together, we are so thankful. You guys really made our vacation a super unforgettable one. Never had a dull moment. Ocampers rock! And the kids' "Ocampo grin" - that's epic. We'll definitely miss that most.
So do I think it's where the kindest people are, I can say yes - at least those we know of. Thanks Canada, we will sure be back soon☺️
