A Day in Estonia
🌍 Country 55: Estonia in a Day

🏰 Tallinn in a Nutshell: Walking Through HistoryTo make the most of my short visit, I joined the “Tallinn in a Nutshell” walking tour by Est Adventures — and honestly, it was the best decision I made all day.
Our guide was engaging, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable, sharing stories that gave the city texture and soul. We wandered through narrow cobblestone streets and marveled at medieval architecture, each stop revealing another layer of Estonia’s rich past. Highlights from the tour included:

There was something peaceful about Tallinn. Even in the winter cold, it felt warm and welcoming — like the city was proud to show itself to anyone curious enough to walk its streets.
🎨 Tallinn’s Creative SideAfter the tour, I ventured out to Telliskivi Creative City — a vibrant, repurposed industrial area filled with colorful murals, cozy cafés, and local artisan shops.
The contrast was beautiful. From the old-world charm of the Old Town to the modern, artistic pulse of Telliskivi, Tallinn showed off two sides of its personality — and I loved both.
🛳️ The Perfect Day TripBy evening, I was back on the Eckerö Line ferry, watching the Baltic Sea fade into twilight.
Estonia may have been country number 55, but it was far more than just a number on my list.
Tallinn gave me a day full of discovery, wonder, and warmth — the kind of place that makes you wish the ferry home would take just a little bit longer.
If you're visiting Helsinki, don’t miss the chance to spend a day in Tallinn. It's quick, easy, and packed with magic.
