AMAZING CITY OF ENERGY AND VIBRANCY
PLACE VISITED: TOKYO, JAPAN
JAPAN
Arrived at Narita Airport 10:30am May 21,2017
Took Kesei Train to Nippori Station at 11:30am. We're staying at APA Hotel TKP @4stars turned out to be a very good choice as the modern, classy
hotel is not only a bit affordable but most importantly within easy transportation access - 2 mins walk from Nippori station.
And so we are at the capital of Japan-Tokyo! Ah this city is truly a whacky, colorful, sooo busy yet incredibly wonderful, and at time completely magical.
I've loved the hustle and bustle of Shibuya & Shinjuku, and of course the peaceful and so beautiful public parks (sorry for not seeing cherry blossoms though), enormous gardens and shrines, all the way through to Tokyo’s shopping, fashion, electronics and gaming districts that are quite plentiful.
We've been using the Tokunai Pass for the second day now and unlimited rides are really well worth it! We've already mastered the JR Yamanote line (haha!) which is the main line for the city, going in a circle and stopping at all the major stations - more than enough to visit most of the top sites to see in Tokyo.
And oh by the way, I like Tokyo for its many vendo machines and restrooms everywhere! Unlike so many other cities in the west, here in Japan's capital, (high tech) toilets are abundant, clean and free (and it's really a relief at times, u know). Japanese people are disciplined, more polite, though not very charming (serious type they are i guess), but they surely will try to help when asked. Everyone walks (fast) on the left side all the time, no smoking nor texting while walking too.
Tokyo is very entertaining (at least for me🤗). Technology at its finest, i say practical and classy. I could just stand in the middle of the city or at any major intersection or train station and watch people. Beautiful people. Serious, religious but definitely beautiful. Nice movement. I was so stunned by how busy a city can be. I thought of the huge crowd in Amsterdam and yet i cannot compare - the bustle in Tokyo is just amazingly vibrant and overwhelming.
